Back in 2019, I was photographing a wedding with a new photographer friend, Rachel. We talked about how we both wanted to do a styled shoot but like working with someone else. We thought it would be fun to do one together! We met up at a coffee shop and dreamed up a plan for an elopement style shoot. Then Covid-19 hit. All our plans seemed so uncertain that we stopped planning. But in the slow down of quarantine, we saw a new wedding venue being build, Ivory North Co. Just seeing the inspiration we knew it was going to be incredible. So we went back to work planning up a new vision.
We contacted Ivory North Co to see if they would be interested in letting us do a styled shoot there- they were in! And I’m going to take a minute to just rave about them. From the first email to the long day at the shoot they were incredible. Not only is the space perfect, but Blake and April are what make this place so special. You can tell they poured their hearts into building all the many beautiful spaces here. It feels like every little corner is amazing down to all the small details like live plans or spring lights in just the right spot. You can tell they have thought of everything!
But back to planning. Once we had a venue, we created a Pinterest board of inspo. We quickly decided that we both were drawn to a Neutral Boho theme. We sent off the board to all of the best wedding vendors in Minneapolis and hoped they would be inspired by our vision. Boy-oh-boy! Minnesota is FILLED with talented the most talented people that helped make our vision come to life better than we had even imagined! I can not talk up the other vendors enough. We had a great time picking out a dress at The White Room in Northeast Minneapolis, getting pictures of the floral arrangements from Ergo Floral, and seeing their beyond charming shop in St. Paul.
