This was SUCH a special wedding to me. I used to drive Jenni to dance every morning in high school. I’d pick her up around 5:45am, we’d jam to Taylor Swift, talk all about boys and friends. I remember when she first started dating Britt. She was head over heels for this guy. I also saw them break up, and get back together again. I remember one time we brought Jenni a black rose to make her feel better. (ohhhh the emo vibes) High school can be a confusing time.
As time passed, they went to college and went their separate way for a few years. Then one faithful night in Des Moines, Iowa they saw each other out at a bar. Britt had just been to a friend’s wedding, and Jenni was out with some girlfriends. They chatted and quickly knew there was something still there. Fast forward, they are finally getting married. About 12 years after they first got together in that science class.
This day was so beautiful. Britt’s sister did the florals. (Literally SO talented) The District Venue was modern, but classic all at the same time. They had a big fun wedding party, and tons of family surrounding them. One of Britt’s nieces was the cutest little photographer helper throughout the day. At one point I teared up as I helped Jenni put on her veil. I stopped and asked her, “Can you believe we’re here? I’m photographing you and Britt’s wedding. What?!” This job is so so special. You get to be alongside people on a day they will never forget. I’m so thankful I was there for these two.
